about Me
My story: why did I start blogging?
I started this blog as a side project back in April 2023 in an effort to share insights that I value, help others, build a community and develop my brand.
Introduction
I’m a 23-year-old first-generation American, college graduate, and home-owner from a single-mother background. That isn’t to say that I don’t come from much, but that I’m trying to make the most out of where I come from. I graduated from Penn State in May 2022, ending one of my life’s most challenging periods. My mom and I were rejected from every loan we applied for, so I decided to take things into my own hands with massive support from my mom. I worked two jobs throughout my collegiate career and finished with a B.S. in Finance and a Real Estate Analysis and Development certificate. Because each semester was a new battle, academically and financially, I learned many lessons. I failed many times in many ways, but it taught me productivity skills and that sacrifice can benefit you in your life.
The Real World
After graduating, I became a finance analyst for one of the top insurance carriers and got the opportunity to purchase a home. This was my big goal because my mom and I lived couch to couch at my grandmother’s house. The hardest part of that period was seeing my mom sleep uncomfortably beside me, giving me the most significant ‘why’ I could ever need. I got lucky and was able to purchase a home right out of college, but it was a huge project. We had to completely remodel the house, which took funds, time, and energy that I barely had. Renovations were costly, but throughout the process, I learned much about myself and home renovation. Building the capital took time, and no one was there to hand me the money. The key was to invest more time into my future than my interests and be confident enough to develop the patience that something extraordinary was coming. Finally, I had to put principles into practice that allowed me to end up in the position I fantasized about. I still have many goals that I hope to hit, and we can get there together!
Let’s get there together!
I still have so many dreams that I hope to actualize. Are you ready to join me in getting there?
